The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD8 is a professional all-in-one HD live production switcher that combines an 8-input 3G-SDI switcher with a dedicated broadcast control panel.
Designed for professional multi-camera productions, all eight 3G-SDI inputs include frame-rate and format conversion. This makes it easier to work with cameras and other compatible SDI sources using different HD formats, while maintaining a consistent production standard.
Unlike compact switchers that rely heavily on software operation, the ATEM Television Studio HD8 provides a complete physical control surface. Dedicated source, transition, key, macro, auxiliary and recording controls give operators fast hands-on access to the functions needed during a live production.
The HD8 also combines several functions that would traditionally require separate equipment. Built-in live streaming, master recording, multiview monitoring, USB webcam output, DVE, four ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, media players and talkback are integrated into the switcher. A built-in four-port Gigabit Ethernet switch further simplifies network connectivity within a production system.
Professional audio connectivity includes balanced XLR analogue inputs, RCA analogue audio, MADI and talkback connections. This makes the HD8 suitable for installations where video switching needs to integrate with a larger professional audio and communications workflow.
