Designed for television studios, corporate productions, houses of worship, universities, government facilities and live event companies, the CR-N400 combines outstanding image quality with industry-leading workflow flexibility.

Powered by Canon’s DIGIC DV7 image processor, the CR-N400 captures stunning UHD 4K video at up to 60 frames per second with exceptional colour accuracy and detail. Its professional 20x optical zoom lens provides an impressive 35mm equivalent focal length of approximately 29.3mm to 601mm, while Canon’s 40x Advanced Zoom extends the reach even further when operating in Full HD. Optical Image Stabilisation ensures smooth, steady images even when mounted in environments subject to vibration.

Canon’s latest Hybrid Auto Focus system combines phase detection and contrast detection technologies to deliver extremely fast and accurate focusing. Face, Eye and Head Detection intelligently keeps presenters, performers and speakers perfectly in focus, even as they move naturally around the stage or presentation area.

Designed for the most demanding broadcast environments, the CR-N400 includes professional 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, Genlock and Timecode interfaces, making it suitable for multi-camera productions requiring frame synchronisation. Support for NDI HX2, SRT, RTMP, RTMPS, RTP, RTSP, Canon XC and FreeD allows seamless integration into IP-based production, virtual production and streaming workflows.

The built-in Auto Tracking Lite application automatically follows presenters without requiring an external computer, while Canon’s optional Auto Tracking and Auto Loop applications add advanced automated camera movements for conferences, educational environments and live productions. A dedicated vertical crop mode also enables simultaneous creation of portrait-format video for social media while continuing to produce a standard widescreen programme feed.

Supporting HDR production through Canon Log 3, PQ, HLG and Wide Dynamic Range, the CR-N400 integrates effortlessly alongside Canon cinema and broadcast cameras. Dual professional XLR audio inputs, embedded SDI and HDMI audio, PoE++ operation and USB webcam functionality make it one of the most capable PTZ cameras available for professional installations.
