Spinhead

Cartoni Spinhead is a nodal head for shots that combine pan and tilt with a change in the camera’s lateral orientation. Its offset spinning tilt unit lets the camera plate pivot sideways through 360°, with four preset positions spaced at 90° and the ability to lock at other angles. It gives a cinematographer another way to compose an unusual move.

Continuous fluid drag assists pan and tilt, and hollow rotation axes provide a cable path for repeated revolutions. The flat Mitchell base supports mounting on suitable tripods, dollies, sliders or camera cars, as well as appropriately configured underslung crane or jib positions.

The H534/CS configuration uses the cine-style plate support. Cartoni’s technical table lists 20 kg maximum payload, but its description recommends camera packages under 18 kg; plan the application using that distinction and confirm the complete rig before ordering.
